I replaced some aluminium sliding doors and have kept the glass panels so that I can create large scale artworks on them. I intend putting the panels into wooden frames and then painting the glass with my own designs. I would also like to incorporate led strip lighting into the frames. Some hints on what would be the pest paints to use and how to install the lighting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello @Dave83
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about painting on glass panels.
To paint over the glass, I suggest using Flood 500ml ESP Easy Surface Paint Preparation. In regards to framing I suggest using timber moulding. I also recommend having a look at these discussions - How to build a mirror frame? by @Rahi and How to build a mirror frame? by @Joevas.
In regards to the LED lighting, it all depends on which type of LED strip you purchase. There are so many types but the majority of them have adhesive backing so you can stick it straight onto the frame that you'll be building.
In regards to the type of paint, I recommend using water-based paints instead of oil-based for ease of cleaning. Water-based paints are also compatible with the Flood ESP.
