I think Floating tables look super cool so I thought I would have a go at making one for the backyard.
It stands 70cm and 60cm across. I was a fun build.
I used Merbau Decking boards, 3mm Stainless Steel Wire Rope, Wire Eye Strap, Rope Thimble and Chrome Plated Copper Swage. 5mm Clear Acrylic for the top.
I used biscuit joints on the bottom of the support arms to add strength and pocket joint to make the triangle top and bottom pieces.
Hello @Super_D

Hi @Super_D,
That's an amazing project you have put together there, and I really like the chosen design. I'd be interested to hear how you got all the ropes tensioned to the correct degree. Most of these tensegrity tables utilise a tensioner, whereas yours does not.
Many thanks for sharing.

Super Thanks...
Thanks, MitchellMc
I did use a Turnbuckle Tensioner in the middle to start, just to get the right distance and tension.
Then I made the middle wire piece to length and used the Wire Eye Strap to help put the tension on,
by having the lower screw of Wire Eye Strap done up not fully done up then when I rotated it the Wire Eye Strap to the
right place it puts the tension on, I also use the front wire to help with the tension in the same way.
I hope this help.
