Flexi storage drawers wont stay closed

Flexi storage drawers wont stay closed

We have a flexistorage unit that we installed a few years ago. It is installed across a wall, with a number of different baskets, frames, hangers and other sections. The baskets all slide out repeatedly by themselves, both empty and when they have things in them. What can we do to stop this from happening? It is really frustrating to have the entire wall of drawers continuously opening.

The wall is straight.

Short of putting hockey straps around each one, some sort of resistance along the rails or a clip of something at the ends?? All ideas welcome!

Re: Flexi storage drawers wont stay closed

Hello @kfillery

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Flexi Storage.

I suspect that the drawer runners themselves are angled downwards. I propose doing a little bit of testing, raise the drawer runners up by about 5 to 10mm. If the drawer still slides out, it's an indicator that the areas fall is much more severe than expected. But if the drawer does not slide out it means that the supporting arms could be out of alignment as you mentioned that the wall is straight. Another way to check if the support arms are level is to use a spirit level, this will give you a definite answer if the supporting arm is in the right position.

If the runner assembly is out of alignment, adjustments will need to be made either to the assembly or the support arm itself.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
