There's a new story on Domain called 10 things every adult should know how to do. The list includes simple DIY jobs like painting a room, hanging a picture and keeping a plant alive.

- Replace a stopper in the sink

- Unclog a drain

- Hang art or a mirror on the wall

- Patch holes in a wall

- Set a screw that just spins in place

Remove a damaged screw! If you're a DIYer like me, you no doubt damage your screws on the way in by using your cordless driver overzealously. Screw extractors are a great addition to any sized toolbox.
