Double gas appliances on one bottle

Hi All,

I live in my house truck and I am installing a gas water heater. There is already a gas connection for the cooker and I'd like to use the same gas bottle for the new water heater. What are the options to plug to appliances on 1 single gas bottle ? There is an existing connection and would the bunnings adaptor I found work with the one in place ?

Thank you kindly for your suggestions.

Re: Double gas appliances on one bottle

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Soa. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting gas fittings.

The Gasmate Brass 2 Way Valve Gas Fitting you've found is designed for camping cylinders with a 3/8" BSP connection, so it won’t work with their existing setup, which uses a 9kg gas bottle and POL fittings. Instead, the gas water heater line would need to be tapped into the main gas line after the bottle connection.

This typically requires a gas fitter to braze on a new connection, ensuring the setup is safe and compliant with regulations. I’d strongly recommend enlisting a licensed gas fitter to handle the installation, as proper connections and secure fittings are essential for safety.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
