As much as we like to utilise every material when creating projects, it’s inevitable that we will end up with scraps/left overs. I hate wasting materials so found myself hoarding everything and taking up a lot of room in the garage. During Covid I was limited to what supplies I could purchase, so decided to sort out my scraps. I was quite happy with what I recovered. There was a lot I’d forgotten about.
I have been able to use them to make gifts for family, friends and even last years thank you gifts for my kids teachers. Also for small projects at home like stools, shelving and a portable cake stand for a friends cake business. If anyone has any ideas or projects you’ve created using left over materials please share!
How very industrious of you, @Tara86! I, too, am a hoarder of any type of timber that could possibly be put to some kind of use in the future. I really don't like throwing timber out. You've created some fantastic projects there from what you had on hand.
I try to make most of my projects from "scrap" timber and avoid purchasing where possible. Here's a little succulent display made from timber offcuts and a couple of pallet boards.
Many thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to see your next project.
