The owners of this house in the hills of Byron Bay, were struggling to appeal to the market to sell for their desired price. Buyers were turned off by the colour combination.
The windows were kept (they are blue) but changing the colour of the roof, walls and refreshing the decks made all the difference and the house sold as soon as it was put back on the market.
In our opinion, paint makes the biggest impact for the smallest spend.
Thanks for sharing this @2Belindas. Great result!
What were the paint colours used for those community members that might like to do something similar?
Jason
The colours B1 chose were Wattyl 'Orchid' (white) and the grey colour is Colourbond colour 'Basalt' It was most important that the colours were modern, but sat side-by-side nicely with the blue windows, as it was going to be too expensive to replace them.
The interior walls were freshened and modernised with Orchid white too - a warm, slightly off white colour which appeals to buyers.
Living room of the same house before and after - removed the clutter and changed Bali furniture for more contemporary furniture
A great transformation. The features of the house really come into their own in the new colours and the whole looks much more attractive and inviting than before. Although it was perhaps originally painted blue with the belief that it would suit the environment, I actually feel that the white allow separation of the detail and blends better with the natural surroundings. For me, the blue jars and seems almost 'lumply' - sorry but that's the word that came to mind. The new colours make me want to go and visit, the old, to move on quickly. A1 to whoever decided on the change and it obviously worked.
Wow what a transformation. Even the trees and grass looks greener.

Hi @MrSDowse1891 @nonsibicunctis
Thank you for your feedback.
Changing the colour helped a lot. The house wouldn't sell at all in its original colours, so when the owners got serious about getting a decent price for their house, re-painting was worth it.
Paint has the ability to make the biggest impact at a very reasonable cost on any renovation project. It has the best ROI and the right colour can emotionally connect someone to the property.
