We are in the process of turning our old steel garage into a usable multipurpose room. The concrete floor was very uneven so we have built a new floor using yellow tongue and now looking for a finish for it. I quite like the look of epoxy flake but want to know if the kit, either solvent or water based, would be suitable to use on yellow tongue? if not what would be a cost effective alternative?
Thanks Julie
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Julie_. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about coating structural flooring.
Our epoxy coating products are designed for concrete floors, so they would be unsuitable for chipboard, such as structural flooring.
Although perhaps not within your budget, but have you considered layer laminate or hybrid vinyl flooring? Vinyl flooring would also provide quite a serviceable surface for the room and would be more budget-friendly than the planked products.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
