Advice wanted for adding roof insulation

Thanks for sharing your question about installing roof insulation. Your ceiling cavity is the perfect candidate for installing roof insulation, I suggest having a look at the Earthwool R6.0 275 x 580 x 1160mm 7.40m² Insulation Ceiling Batt - 11 Pack. It can cover an area of at least 7.4sq meters and has an R6.0 rating.

However, before you begin, I recommend checking the rules and regulations of your local council on who is allowed to install your roof insulation. Some states require a professionally trained installer to put your insulation in the roof.

There is a real danger of electrocution and the possibility of a fire hazard when placing insulation near hot halogen lighting fixtures.

If you've had no previous experience with installing insulation, I recommend engaging the services of a registered installer. In doing so your installation will be done to code.
