Hi guys,
just wonder how to demolish a brick wall safely. I already have a Ryobi SDS with a chisel bit, and masonry chisel. And any other tools I need to complete this job
Hi @helloeatty,
Thank you for your question about removing a small brick wall.
It's a pretty simple process. Start at the top and work your way down, one brick at a time. It's much slower than going wild and swinging a sledgehammer at it willy-nilly, but it will keep the bricks intact and keep you safe.
As the main priority is safety, make sure you wear your personal protective equipment including a mask, enclosed shoes, long work clothes, gloves, eye protection and ear protection.
Use your Ryobi Hammer Drill and chisel bit aimed at the mortar lines on the top course of bricks. Break the connection between the individual bricks in the top course before aiming at the horizontal line under the first course. Remove each brick individually and move it.
Continue the process of removing the vertical mortar between bricks followed by the horizontal mortar between courses all the way down.
If you take it slow and steady, the wall will be safely removed in no time.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
