Hi all,
I am restoring some old stars with 1 landing (U stairs). I am curious what type of wood I should get for:
1) For decking top side.
2) for the base of the lading.
This landing always get the rain and that's why it is dying first. I will also be grateful if someone know what the best option is for stairs pieces are as well ?
Hi @ddel,
For the decking, I'd recommend a hardwood such as Merbau and to re-oil it every year. With correct maintenance it will last decades.
For the base of the landing, you'd use H3-treated Pine in 45mm thickness and width suitable for your load.
For the stair treads, we offer pre-made treads, which are H3-treated Pine.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
