Hi fellow workshop peeps.
Need some help what is the material called that joins these sheets ?
Hi @nicksom,
Would it be these 4.5m sheet joining strips that you're looking for? Typically they would be inserted when installing the sheets as they need to slip over the edges. For installed sheets, your best bet might be to caulk the gap with Sikaflex or install a timber cover strip over them.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
I agree with Mitch totally. You can use a joiner strip on fiber cement sheeting or if you have already installed sheeting, a flat PVC strip can be nailed into place over joint providing there is timber behind to nail into. Pre- drill holes in the flat wide strip first.
Both products available at Bunnings.
Hi @nicksom,
This area of a building is called a soffit (pronounced so-feet).
It is usual to fit the flexible joiners as the sheets are fitted into the rebates that hold the sheet on the spouting side and then you would use small nails (panel pins) to nail a timber quadrant profile on the house side of the soffit to hold the panels in place.
I hope that this is of some use to you.
Cheers,
Mike T.
