What concrete screw or bolt is used to install a Jack Matrix post?
Hi all,
I am going to build a privacy screen with Jack Matrix screen panels and 1.9m post with cap foot.
What sort of concrete screw/bolt is recommended to fix a post (on a concrete path) ?
TIA
Regards

Re: What concrete screw/bolt is used to install a Jack Matrix post?
Hi @CarlL,
Thank you for your question about what hardware to use to attach a post to a concrete path.
You should use either a DynaBolt or an AnkaScrew.
Assuming the path is at least 100mm thick, either these Ramset 10 x 50mm DynaBolts or these Ramset 10 x 60mm Galvanised AnkaScrews will work.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: What concrete screw/bolt is used to install a Jack Matrix post?
Hi @JacobZ ,
Would Ramset 14g x 70mm Black Ankascrew also work? The package suggests that it could hold up to 91kg. Also, my posts and screen panels are black and the Ankascrew Masonry Screw will match colour pecfectly.

Re: What concrete screw/bolt is used to install a Jack Matrix post?
Hi @CarlL,
Are you asking whether they can be used into the ground? Or through the screen into your post?
If they are going into the ground, yes you can use them, but they won't give as strong a hold as the Dynabolt or Ankascrews I linked to because of their narrower diameter.
If you want the strength and the colour, you can always install the Dynabolt or Ankascrew and then spray the heads with Dulux Metalshield Epoxy Enamel Spray Paint Satin Black.
If you are asking whether they can be used into the post, then the answer is not. You will need a metal screw.
Let me know what you think.

Thank you @JacobZ for the clarification.
I'm going to install KwikFit Plain Pivoting General Purpose Gate Hing to the Jack Matrix post
What screws are recommended?

Hi @CarlL,
These Buildex 10G x 16mm Hex Head Tek Screws should do the trick.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: What concrete screw/bolt is used to install a Jack Matrix post?
Hi @CarlL,
I should have mentioned that you should double-check that the 16mm length of the screw is sufficient to go through the hinge and into the post.
If you compare them in-store and it doesn't seem that way, you may need to go with a slightly longer screw such as these Otter 8 x 25mm Black Button Screws.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
