The festive season is nearly upon us and most people are planning a well-earned rest.
But for others, the break represents an opportunity to get stuck into D.I.Y. projects like a new build or getting their hands dirty in the garden.
What are your holiday plans? Are you getting away from it all, having a rest at home, or embarking on an exciting new project?

Planning on doing very little indeed. But do want to improve my BBQ skills. I will start another post about that.
Definitely take the opportunity to get busy/creative round the house.
#1 priority is finishing an outdoor floating blackboard for my kids for Xmas. Keen to see how it turns out with the rustic border and intentionally rusted corner brackets.
Other than that it's mostly 'housekeeping' stuff like popping up a new retractble hose thingo, start making a cover for my pool pump/heater, bit more painting inside before starting to repaint the outside, and gettign stuck into prettying up the front yard.
I've just got the last bit of tidying up to do before we start our backyard project.
Really looking forward to starting after a year in planning mode!

We've been taking long weekends down south leading up to Xmas (to beat the rush) and will spend Xmas Day, etc at family/friends houses and the bigger event at my place for a nice feast, swims and drinks.
I've been tasked with not doing any work round the house or starting/continuing/finishing any projects and of course I said "Yes wifey" Little does she know I had my fingers crossed behind my back haha
