I have some real brick tiles that I want to lay over a concrete path.
What is the best adhesive to use and best mortar.
Hi @jenava000,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
How thick are these brick tiles? Do you have any photos you could upload of the bricks and the path? This will certainly help us to offer our best advice.
You can likely use this Davco 20kg SMP Evo Tile Adhesive to stick the tiles down.
Generally, between tiles, you will use grout as opposed to mortar, this is why I have asked how thick the brick tiles are.
Once you've advised the thickness of your brick tiles, I'd be happy to recommend a suitable product.
Let me know how you go.

Hi, can I piggyback into this advice please. I plan to lay brick pavers onto this 90 year old concrete step to raise its height and also would like to know the best product to use. There will be more gravel added to the path when it’s done so the step heights should end up the same if the adhesive/mortar is no thicker than around 10mm.
Hi @Christine61,
Thank you for your question.
The best product to use in your situation is mortar.
Start by giving the step a good clean with warm soapy water and a stiff bristled brush.
You can then mix your mortar, following the instructions on the packet. You are aiming for a toothpaste consistency.
You should then lightly dampen the step before applying a bed of mortar with a trowel. Press the brick pavers into the bed of mortar and tap them down, checking with a spirit level to ensure they are level as you go.
Once dry, this will give you a fantastic step that will be nice and solid.
Let me know what you think.

Thank you Jacob, that’s brilliant and fits with the information I’ve read online which never suggests a brand to use. I’ll share a photo when it’s done.
Hi @Christine61,
There's no need for anything fancy, standard run-of-the-mill mortar is all you need.
I can't wait to see the finished product.
