Hi all,
I am new to the community and would like some advice on refreshing our veranda roof.
As you can see in the photos, there is
galvanised c-section as well as white. There is some rust on the posts and no insulation.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Peta.
Hi @PetaRufo,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. At a bare minimum, it could do with a good clean and some paint, which is fairly easy to do.
Your structure is in much better condition, but the principles in How To Paint Metal and How To Restore Rusted Metal With Paint still apply. You can use these as a guide to treat and paint the metal on the posts and purlins.
You've also mentioned a lack of insulation. Is this something you'd like to add? If so, you might like to check out How to insulate a metal roof from @bowmatty for a great example that is similar to your situation.

Let me know what you think and if you'd like specific guidance or inspiration, please let me know so I can assist further.

Thanks Jacob for the ideas and inspo. I think at this stage we would just like to paint the posts/c-section and replace the lights for now. We will eventually pave/tile the concrete floor.
Cheers,
Peta.
