Rain/moisture dripping from underside of Pergola

Hello, my pergola seems to have excessive moisture on the inner side of the roof which is causing drips/leaks after cold mornings or heavy rainfall.

Is there any suggestions on how to limit this?

Much appreciated.

Re: Rain/moisture dripping from underside of Pergola

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Sammcb. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about condensation.

Those droplets are condensation due to the moisture in the air reaching the dew point. When moisture-laden air touches cold surfaces, it forms condensation. Eventually, it builds up and forms droplets. There is no real easy way of resolving it, and it's just something that pergolas are susceptible to. You might like to take a look at this Best advice article on How do you stop condensation on a patio roof? Insulating the underside of the roof is typically the only option here, but you'll also need to consider how you'll prevent the moisture-laden air from coming in contact with the beams.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
