Need ideas for outdoor bbq build

Hi!

tossing up between building an outdoor bench with an inbuilt bbq and cold water sink, VS just a normal bbq on wheels. Trying to hide a splitsystem fan in the bench too. Plan will be sink, bbq and then bench on the r hand side, rendered or pouring a thin layer of concrete over the top. I’d also have 2-4 cabinets.

Money is tight, so not sure which option to go with.

Does anyone have any ideas on rough quotes and photos with that they’re made.

Re: outdoor bbq build

Hello @chailatte22

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building an outdoor BBQ.

If you have the time and budget for it, I suggest using a concrete top - Concrete tabletop project by @markw. You can modify the design to fit your needs with the sink and inbuilt BBQ. If the area is under cover, I vote building a permanent structure as you'll be able to maximize the size of your outdoor BBQ. Whereas a wheeled unit has a limit to how big it can be, but the advantage is that it can be moved to any spot int he area.

Here is a link for ideas and inspiration:  10 barbecue stand and bench ideas.

I also suggest having a look at these discussions:

The cabinets can be built using framing timber and covered with Merbau panels which is rated for outdoor use. Please keep in mind that should you decide any of the flatpack systems, bringing it outside of the home even if it is under cover renders its warranty null and void.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
