Firstly Iโd like to thank @Yorky88 for your helpful advice answering my long list of questions!! Plus all the other posts showing their DIY Cubbyโs - such great jobs and appreciate learning from the different methods etc.
Thankfully had it finished just in time for Christmas. Still needed a few paint touch ups and some accessories added including the shade sail but the main structure was up and ready. Living in Melbourne I had the major issue of dealing with Mother Nature. I was either drenched or battling the heat. Given the year before while making my kids another project for Christmas I suffered a ruptured tendon and torn ligaments - so at times I thought maybe this is a message I should no longer make my kids things for Christmas ha ha.
Materials used were timber posts, joists/bearers and accessories from Bunnings and pallet wood that a customer kindly dropped off for me. It was in great condition. Left over Merbau from the decking. I used masonry wall anchors to secure the top decking to the house and concreted the posts for added stability. We have also added left over mulch to the play area and currently working on wooden edging to keep it in. Will be installing a shade sail from above the swing set to the end of the playground. Also due to my middle childโs lack of fear were also going to put something in front of the drain so roof access is restricted. Dimensions L - 2.5m D - 1.8m H - 2.7m.
Well done @Tara86 that looks absolutely fantastic. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป ๐๐ป I bet your kids love it. I know I Do haha.
Thanks for the shout out btw happy to help out anytime.
