Hw to remove excess furniture oil from Colorbond fence?

I recently varnished our new bench seat but didn’t realise it would be so hard to remove the excess varnish splashed onto our colorbond fence. I tried metho and some make up removal pads but it wasn’t too successful.

Any ideas?

Re: Helppp…how to remove excess furniture oil from colorbond fence

Hi @sjh_86,

I've contacted Cabot's and using methylated spirits would be the advised way to try and break the coating down. Try saturating the cloth and holding it over the areas for a minute or so. You want to give it time to penetrate and start to break down the coating. Unfortunately, if it has dried over a few days, there might not be much chance of removing it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

ok, I gave it a second shot with metho and soaked it. This was effective. Needed a fair bit of elbow grease, however glad it removed the excess.

thanks for your help
