Hi all
I have stratco single skin roof , im enclosing with aluminium shutters, and cladding on the underside of the roof .
I purchased sarking from Bunnings, however I had to use aluminium battens for strength, the last 3 battens were the screws are , it is water drops on the battens , not sure how to fix
help please 👍
Thanks for your help
I purchased a waterproof paint on
if it doesn’t work I’ll add the sarking over the battens, probably worried about nothing
cheer 👍
Hi @pjs68
My apologies for the late reply. I was racking my brain on a way to insulate the batten and still allow you to glue the panel on. I agree with Mitchell's suggestion and that is insulate the battens and skip the glue and just attach the panels with screws.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
I put water proofing on it yesterday day , made no difference.
im going do the insulation over the battens.
cheers for all advice 👍
Hi @pjs68 I did the exact same project as yourself last summer at a mates place. I essentially followed the same advice as @MitchellMc has provided. Those sound panels ae only MDF under a very thin timber look skin, so its also very important to both prime and flash all the ends to prevent moisture reach it. I then ran low voltage dimmable strip lights within the black cavities.
