How to replace sliding door rollers?

20241214_093927.jpg

hello

I need to replace my sliding door rollers as they look damaged and one of them won't extend causing the door off balance.

Any suggestions on the rollers to get in bunnings for this set up?

Would I need to unscrew these first to install new ones or just rip these out with a flathead screwdriver?

Re: sliding door rollers replacement

Hi @Joker2021,

Thank you for your question about replacing your sliding door rollers.

When I was still in stores, the method I used to help customers replace their rollers was to put them right beside each other and give them the eye test. If they look the same and all the measurements match up, they should work.

You'll have to remove the roller carriage so you can take it in-store to compare.

It's hard to say exactly how they are fixed in place from the photo you have provided. They could be screwed in or they could be clipped in place.

Are there any obvious screws that can be removed to slip the carriage out?

If not, they may clip in place, and you need to pry them out with a flathead screwdriver.

Let me know how you go, I'm happy to help troubleshoot further if required.

Re: sliding door rollers replacement

thanks, it looks like a clip in attachment.

I managed to pull it out (see below images)

Not even sure if Bunnings will be able to identify a suitable replacements based on that :). It looks badly damaged.

Re: sliding door rollers replacement

Hi @Joker2021,

You'd have to physically confirm, but I'm fairly confident that this Rolltrak Adjustable Wide Body Plastic Cassette And Acetal Roller will work.

Let me know what you think.
