How to replace a removed asbestos board on exterior wall?

Hi Team,

We recently had a broken Fibre board (containing asbestos) removed from our house. The removal has left a large gap between the cement foundational ring and the garage door. What product shall we use to cover this (ensuring it's waterproof) and to match the original colour/texture of the existing cement? Is this simply a cement plastered onto the foundation?

Many thanks in advance 😊

Re: Replacing Removed Abestos Board

Hello @bcas

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about patching an exterior wall.

It looks like cladding was fixed onto the timber framing such as the James Hardie HardieFlex™ 2400 x 1200 x 6mm Cladding 2.88m² and a cement render was applied to the surface to give it that particular texture. I propose speaking to your builder in regards to recreating the effect that you currently have on your wall. In regards to the render, I recommend having a look at the Dunlop 20kg Multipurpose Acrylic Render

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How To Render.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
