How to repair a timber fence?

Please advice wooden fence repair,nails have come out with gaps,how and what sort of nails,tools .Thanks

Hi @Newbie75 @I think those images by @Noyade really gives you some insight as to resolve the issues

Another solution worth considering is to simply replace those damaged palings. They are available in several lengths and widths with cost between $1.60 to $2.40 each. Then the difficulty in removing or refixing the current ones without damage is eliminated.
