Hi there, I noticed that one of the roof tiles has lifted, and I found out that it's because of the TV antenna bracket. The antenna is already disconnected, and there’s no TV socket inside the house, so I don’t need to keep the antenna. Can you help me with how to pull out the roof tile and remove the TV antenna bracket? or any other solutions? Thank you, Mac.
Hi @Mac4,
Thank you for your question.
TV antennas don't usually have 240v power to them, but this looks like it's a satellite dish and there are a number of cables running to it, so it is better to be safe than sorry. Before you start, you'll want to confirm with an electrician that it is not connected to the mains power.
Once you've confirmed there is no electricity running through these cables, there's not much to it as the tiles just sit over each other. You'll want to lift the tile above slightly to allow you to slide the bottom tile out. Once that tile is out, you'll likely see that the antenna is screwed to the roof battens. Remove the screws and pull the cable through and remove the antenna.
You can then slip the tile that you've removed back under the tile above.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
