How to prevent rain water flow through vents?

Hi,

when it rains heavily I see dampness under the house where these vents are located. 
can someone please suggest on how to avoid water flowing from top getting into the vents.

If you are sure that these terracotta pipes are no longer in use, then sealing them might help prevent the spread of water. But if you are not sure, then I suggest engaging the services of a plumber to double check for you, before you put those pipes out of commission.

i am sure all storm water pipes are connected to PVC till the kerb side.

But sewer pipes are still Terracota. 
Is there a way to differentiate sewer and storm pipes?

Please let me know.

Hope I don’t end up blocking or damaging sewer pipe while digging.

i will definitely engage plumber later.

Hi @approachmhn 

It's best to consult a plumber regarding this, in this manner there will be no guessing and thereby preventing you from accidentally closing off your sewer pipes.
