Hi
My new house has a sideway path which has a 4m wide 3m tall brick wall painted blue. I would like to paint it charcoal.
Do i need any special preparation to paint over the top of the blue painted bricks?
I am the only person who sees this wall, it is purely for aesthetics.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @CALCA. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about paint preparation.
What condition is the current paint in? Is it deteriorated at all, powdery, or is it flaking off? Provided the current paint is sound, then it would just need a good clean with SugarSoap and then an application of undercoat. If you speak with a paint shop team member at your local store, they can advise on suitably tinted undercoats to block out the blue colouring.
Here's a helpful guide on How to paint your exteriors.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
