My house is 24 years old, and I would like to install my wireless CCTV camera on the eaves. The weight of my CCTV camera is 520g. Will the eaves support 520g?
Hi @Phyllisbarnes,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
You won't have any issues mounting a CCTV camera to the eaves as long as you ensure you are screwing through the eave into the timber above.
You can use a stud finder to locate the timber behind the eave, but as eaves are usually installed with clouts, it is usually pretty easy to locate the timber behind your eaves by looking at the location of the clouts.
If you could upload an image of where you're looking to mount the camera, I'd be happy to take a look and advise further.
Let me know if you need a hand uploading images, I'm happy to help if required.
Jacob
Hi @Phyllisbarnes,
Thank you for the follow up photo.
You can see the clouts that I have circled and the direction the timbers will follow above the eave sheets.
Using these lines as a guide, you shouldn't have any trouble mounting your camera very close to your chosen location.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
