How to make a front path?

Hi I'm looking for some advice and help on how about to go on making a footpath in the front of the house. Attached is what it looks at the moment. I want to move the rocks to the side to create that foot path way and it has a slight slope so happy to have 2 steps at the bottom. Easiest and cheapest way to clean it up and make a non slope path to walk on. Will like to use any type of pavers as long it's not slippery for wet weather or timber etc  Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: How to make a front path?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @lbahir. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a pathway.

There are a variety of different ways that you could create a path through this area. You might like to take a look at this helpful step-by-step guide: How to lay paving for a path. Or, for something with a bit more pizzazz, How to lay crazy paving. Also, check out our range of outdoor pavers; I'm sure you'll find something there that you find appealing. My favourites are the porcelain pavers, as they create such a luxurious look.

If you're looking to level off the area to lay paving and then have some steps down at the end, you'll need to create an elevated area filled with soil. The soil will be held in position with retaining walls. Fortunately, we've got a guide for that, too: How to build a retaining wall.

I see you're not interested in using decking. Still, I think it's worth considering it as you could create quite a dramatic entrance and pathway using floating platforms constructed from Ekodeck. I've created the rendering below to illustrate. Even a boardwalk following this guide on How to build a decking boardwalk would look amazing.

I'm keen to hear more about the style of paving you'll be using and answer any questions you might have.

Mitchell
