Gday all, I’m after some help on the best way to hang a shade sail we are looking at buying.
So it will be a square sail the we will have to attach two ends to the colour bond fencing then two ends to the gutters fascia or Eves.
What’s is the best options for attaching the sail to the colour bond fencing and to the gutters fascia eves area ?
I’ve attached a photo of our fence and also the gutters as well as the sail we would like to buy.
I believe there is timber butted up to parts of fascia if that helps.
we are located Perth western aus
Hi @Glenn83,
Thanks for your question. Bunnings has produced a step-by-step guide how to install a shade sail. The video can be found below.
We often get members asking about attaching shade sails to fences and eaves. Unfortunately such structures are typically unsuitable.
Please seek professional advice on what posts to use and how they are installed as the force on a shade sail can be significant. In the Bunnings guide, the installation of the three steel posts was overseen by a qualified builder to ensure they were structurally sound.
Hope that helps.
Jason
