I have these two blinds or screens that can be rolled up with a crank handle. They are mounted on a roller and roll down or up, with their edges meant to be on a guide track. The sides of the screen have a chord enclosed in a cloth fused to hold it. They are frayed and difficult to put into the tracks. I have repaired them with cloth adhesive tape but the problem is to put them back into the tracks. They flap in the wind.
Any suggestions on how to fix them?
Hello @Pcan
Thanks for sharing your question about your roller blinds. I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with your roller blind model.
However, the general principles of blind rails are fairly similar. The side part of the roller blind is clipped or is running through a custom rail channel beside it. I propose rolling the blind all the way up and looking for the lower right end of the blind. If parts of the blind are still connected to the channel, all you have to do is to have someone slowly lower the blind while you make sure that the end of the chord of the blind travels through the channel beside it without skipping or popping out. Repeat the process for the other side.
But if the chord pops out of the channel while it is in the open position, it's safe to say that the chord has either worn out or the channel its travelling on has started to open. Your options are to replace the chord or squeeze the aluminium channel back into shape. If neither solution works, I suggest calling the blind manufacturer for spare parts.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
