How to fill gaps between pavers?

Hi Members

i am getting my patio pressure cleaned and sealed today. I am looking to paint the pavers this weekend. Is there a way i can fill the gaps in between pavers and then paint to give it a more finished look.

Any projects that anyone would like to share  for this area.

Re: How to fill gaps between pavers?

Hi @antrix_bansal

When working on your paver project, it's best to fill the gaps with sand and cement before painting the pavers. This approach ensures that the gaps are securely filled, providing a stable foundation and preventing issues like weed growth or shifting pavers in the future. Once the gaps are properly filled and the area is clean and dry, painting can be applied more effectively, resulting in a smooth and even finish that enhances the overall appearance of your driveway or patio.

At the store, you can find a variety of products to help you with both steps. For filling the gaps, polymeric sand is an excellent choice as it hardens when activated with water, reducing the likelihood of erosion and weed invasion. Additionally, high-quality cement sand mixes are available to ensure strong and durable joints between your pavers.

After the gaps are filled and have had adequate time to set, you can select from a range of exterior-grade masonry or concrete paints offered by the store. These paints are specifically formulated to adhere well to paver surfaces, providing long-lasting color and protection against the elements.

Before painting, make sure to thoroughly clean the pavers to remove any dirt, debris, or existing stains. The store offers effective cleaning solutions and pressure washers that can help prepare the surface for painting.

I also suggest having a look at this discussion - Painted outdoor pavers by @Marj2Homer. They used White Knight Paving and Concrete paint.
