How to fill gaps between concrete and paving?

I believe mixing cements & sands (1:4) and bitumen together as a gap filler mixture, could be used to fill such gaps,  that will provide hardness as well as flexibiy.

Problem is how to use such mixtures without spilling and messing on the surrounding areas?

Please advise the process to follow to install such mixtures.IMG_0062.jpeg

Re: How to fill gaps between concrete and paving?

Hi @Kintiq,

One of our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts Jacob recently shared a simple step-by-step guide How to fill a joint in a concrete slab. It includes a list of tools and materials to use.

Please take a look and let us know whether it meets your needs.

Thanks,

Jason

Re: How to fill gaps between concrete and paving?

Hi Jason

Thanks for the advise, however at the edge of the driveway the gap is pretty big due to deterioration of Bitumen filler boards which Bunnings no longer sale.

I talked to the Siikkens  adviser and accordingly brought 4 litres of Bitumen, sand and cement.

He also suggested the 4:1 mixture of sand & cement with bitumen.

Do you think using masking tape could hug elp me to control the spillage

Re: How to fill gaps between concrete and paving?

Hello @Kintiq

In regards to spill protection using masking tape such as ScotchBlue 48mm x 55m Original Multi-Surface Painter’s Masking Tape and doing a side-by-side application to increase the coverage should be enough to protect the area. For even more coverage you could use painter's plastic drop sheets in combination with the masking tape.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
