Re: How to fill gap between brick wall and concrete path?

Hi @Mo2,

This is an expansion gap, and it's pretty common to see a gap in it on older buildings that have experienced some movement. There's nothing to be particularly worried about there. If you feel the gap is unsightly, you could fill it with Sikaflex 11FC.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for your quick response Mitchell.

Do I have to put any form in the area where there is a gap? I can see some there is a form in there but not consistent throughout.

Thanks again for your help

Hello @Mo2

If you have an area that has no foam, I suggest using Moroday 15mm x 5m White Gap Filler Rod if the hole is very deep and there is no foam whatsoever. Push the filler rod about 10mm into the gap but no deeper than that, then place the Sikaflex above it. The fille rods purpose is to prevent the filler from flowing down the deep hole.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

What about the foam rod to push into the gap first?

Re: How to fill gap between brick wall and concrete path?

Hi @Yolzy,

A foam rod is not always necessary if the hole is not too deep.

The main purpose of the foam rod is to stop the sealant from falling all the way down through the hole. It reduces the amount of sealant required drastically when deeper cracks are present. As the foam is cheaper than the sealant, it is usually more cost-effective to use the foam rod to reduce the amount of sealant required.

If the gap is only shallow, then there is no reason it can't be filled entirely with sealant.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Can I use this instead of the one you used? why has it got 1 star? And what can I use it for other than filling concrete cracks?IMG_8724.png

Re: How to fill gap between brick wall and concrete path?

Hello @Yolzy

As an alternative, I also suggest looking at the Sika 310ml Grey Concrete Sikaflex Pro+ Polyurethane Sealant. It has a four-star rating, which suggests that it performed reliably and effectively for the customers who used it. This rating indicates that users were generally satisfied with its performance, finding it to meet their needs and expectations in practical use. It has a four-star rating which indicates that it performed well and worked the way the customer used it for.

The only other product you can use is mortar mixed to a soft consistency so that it flows into the crack. However, please be aware that if the crack is too deep the gap filler and the mortar will settle at the very bottom of the gap.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
