Hi,
I currently have a 1500mm colorbond traditional fence and would like to extend to 1800mm. I know I can buy extension posts and lattice infill but I would prefer a flush finish as it is in the hope of stopping neighbourhood cats jumping over and they use the extensions slats as purchase. Is it possible to use the extension posts and existing posts and purchase 1800mm infills to replace the current 1500mm?
Everywhere I look all talk about just using the extension infills.
Thanks for your help in advance
Cheers Amanda
Hi Amanda (@maduck1000),
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
I don't see any reason you couldn't use the COLORBOND® Steel 340mm Monument Fencing Post Extensions to increase the height of your posts and replace the panels with 1800mm panels so there is no join between them.
You would just need to remove the top rail, install the fence extensions, install the new 1800mm panels then reinstate the top rail.
You can check out How to add an extension to a Colorbond fence from @ProjectPete to see how to install the extensions.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob
Thanks Jacob, it works out oddly cheaper that way as well. I will let you know how it goes,
Cheers Amanda
