Hi
Just put up a verandah and we have the first rain yesterday. We noticed that big water drops fall from a ledge above the roof and make an annoying loud noise when hitting the polycarbonate roof. It would not be easy to fix that dripping on the roof. Is there anything we can do on the roof to dampen the noise?
Thanks
Dani

Hi @danil22,
Thank you for your question about noise dampening on a polycarbonate roof.
If you were confident that you were aware of the location the water is dripping, you could add some strips of Abelflex Self Adhesive Backed Expansion Joint Filler Foam on top of the polycarbonate sheets where the water is dripping to dampen the noise.
You could also add a layer of Earthwool Space Blanket pulled tight underneath the polycarbonate sheet. This would help to dampen the vibrations, hence reducing the noise but would require you to remove the roof sheet so you could place the Earthwool down above the roof battens and then reattach the polycarbonate sheets over the top.
If this was something you weren't confident doing due to the at height nature of the job, I'd advise getting the assistance of a handyman.
Let me know if you have further questions.
