How to connect water tank to pump?

Good afternoon. I bought a water tank and pump to use on my veggie garden but I'm a total newbie when it comes to water tanks, so I'm hoping there's a very easy/obvious answer to my question!

I bought a Nextgenroto tank and pump, and have picked up the Ozito tank to pump installation kit. The first step in the installation kit says to connect the ball valve to the water tank outlet, however the outlet looks like this (photo uploaded) - completely closed and none of the Ozito fittings fit over this. Am I meant to drill into the black part to create a hole, or somehow remove it to reveal a convenient flange that the Ozito fitting can thread onto?

Thanks for your time and hopefully this makes sense!

Re: Connecting water tank to pump

Hi @NRH,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

You should be aware that NextGenRoto recommends a licensed plumber install the water tank. If a non-licensed plumber conducts the installation, the 10 Year Repair or Replacement Warranty may be affected.

With this being said, I believe the black piece in the centre is a plug that can be rotated counterclockwise to reveal a threaded outlet that you can attach to.

Give this a try and let me know what you find.

I'm happy to assist further if required.

Jacob
