How to clean a concrete driveway with treadmarks?

Hi. We have just had someone come to slash our very overgrown grass. He was not very considerate of the new driveway, and made numerous treadmarks and wet grass and grime tracks all over the driveway. My question is- do I need a spressure sprayer with the  SCA degreaser?

Hi @Carol64,

Welcome to Bunnings Workshop. We're pleased to have you join us.

A pressure washer is indeed a handy tool. I would be starting with that first and avoiding using anything that might damage your lawn or other plants.

The article How do you remove stains from your driveway? might also be worth a look before one of our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts can provide a specific reply to you.

Thanks,

Jason

Re: How to clean a concrete driveway with treadmarks?

Hi @Carol64,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

I am sorry to hear your lawn maintenance contractor was a bit careless with your new driveway.

As @Jason has mentioned, a pressure washer is a great tool for this kind of job. You may find that the marks come up quite easily without any additional chemicals.

If they are quite troublesome, some Concrete And Stone Cleaner would certainly help, but you should be cautious not to overspray the area.

Another option is to use a stiff bristled outdoor broom. Start with just water and scrub it, if this doesn't work use some concrete and stone cleaner.

Once the driveway has been cleaned, I would encourage you to apply a concrete sealer as this will help prevent similar issues in the future.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
