Hello everyone,
would like to get some ideas on how you build your outdoor kitchens incorporating a freestanding weber genesis 325 bbq.
Built in cabinets are way too costly. Hoping to achieve a nice neat look without costing too much.
I will be grateful to get some ideas from this lovely community.
thanks for helping
Hello @diynoob8282
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's marvellous to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building an outdoor kitchen.
I suppose it all depends on your budget and what kind of cabinets you had in mind. For example, a single sheet of Ecoply 2400 x 1200 x 12mm Non-Structural Plywood - 12mm is enough to build you a midsize cabinet with a door. But this means that you'll need to build it from scratch.
When combined with the paint, hinges and screws, it will still technically be affordable. Depending on the size of the BBQ area, you could have either two or four cabinets on the sides of the BBQ itself.
If you wish to integrate the BBQ into the cabinetry this means that you'll need to build a timber frame or just the leave the BBQ as is and position it in place and just colour the cabinets a dark grey or a light grey depending on the colour of the BBQ cabinet that you have.
