I was lucky to be given a Bunnings Kids DIY Birdhouse to build .
sorry Bunnings MDF won’t last long in Wellington New Zealand hurricanes, rain wind and earthquakes.
so I gave all the pieces an$ good coat of British paints water based 4 in 1 sealer primer undercoat.
and blocker see what I did there? Haha. Mine is tinted by Bunnings to TU4 a soft grey so it covers bright colours and hush contrast ( imagine a black and white chessboard).
The front and back 9mm mdf have rebates down both sides and the front has a hole for entry and for a perch. The sides 3mm mdf simply fit into the rebates. The 3mm top and bottom are predrilled and with eight brads nail down and make the structure quite firm I glued all joints with sellers exterior PVA glued the perch in and overnight have a rigid little box.
now waiting for my next trip to Bunnings to get some colour.
