I am about to build a set of stairs in my back yard going from a deck to a concrete slab. How can I go about attaching the pine stringers to the concrete slab?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @KillKen. It's spledidi to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting stair stringers.
Typically, you'd use something like these Carinya 50 x 50 x 195 x 1.8mm Galvanised Reinforcing Angle Brackets. They would be positioned on the inside edge of the stingers and Dynabolted into the concrete. You can then bolt the stinger and bracket together.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the reply. What about the pine sleeper being in contact with the concrete slab? I live in Tassie where it rains a bit, would ther be an issue with moisture rot between the sleeper and slab?
Hi @KillKen,
The stringer is likely to only be H3-treated for above-ground use and not on-ground use. It would be best to elevate it slightly on plastic shims to keep it off the ground. It would also be a good idea to paint the edge of the stringer closest to the ground with bitumen paint.
