Hi,
I have a post and rail timber fence and just purchased the 2400mm treated pine extensions. I did watch the installation video on your web site but did not pay attention to the fact that the fence shown in the video did not have the top rail installed. My top is to wide to slip the fence extension over and I do have the rails on my side of the fence and cannot access it from the more flatter other side.
How can I fasten the extension on my side so that it is nice and sturdy and does not wobble?
Thank you for looking into this.
@EricL I've attached the picture. needs to increase to 1.8m high. thanks.
Hello @fishwh08
Thank you for posting the pictures of your fence. I can suggest two possible ways that you can attach the extension. First is to pad the uneven part of the fence so that the timber post of the extension fence can be anchored to a flat surface. The second method is to cut a small channel in the timber cap of the fence to allow the post to be mounted again on a flat surface.
Please give me some time to draw up the fence example and as soon as I finish, I'll post it here.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

@EricL thanks! do I need to extend posters ? Or how can I close the gaps between panels will be installed?
Hello @fishwh08
I've placed the fence extension mounting images below. You'll see the extra panel I've placed in front of the paling so that the extension mounting post is mounted on a flat surface. The fence extension will need to be cut a little bit to make way for the post and will allow the extension to sit flat on the top of the fence. The fence extension will need to be modified when the final panel is placed at the end of the fence. It needs to be cut down and re-assembled so that it sits in line with the fence.
The fence extension is 460mm in height and you'll need to decide if this is enough to make your fence tall enough. If it needs to be taller, I suggest engaging the services of a professional fence installer. Please note that the images below are for reference only and are not to scale.
