I want to secure a hammock between a house brick wall and a tree
Best and safest way to anchor into house brick wall and best and safest way to anchor to a tree
material choice such as Dynabolts or masonry screws. Rope or chains
Hello @Falcon1
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your hammock.
I recommend having a quick look at this discussion - How do I hang my hammock in my living room? by @outonaboat. The general idea when anchoring to a brick wall is to spread the load. This is accomplished by installing a large timbre batten and being anchored on its four corners. It's also important to use an eye bolt that has a nut and bolt assembly.
If you decide to use rope, I suggest using Grunt 10mm x 25m White Braided Marine Rope. It can be used outdoors and has a breaking strength of 1600kg. I also suggest looking at the Zenith Hammock Straps With Carabiners which are designed to work on trees. These straps are weight rated as well and have UV protection. I don't recommend using chains as these often eat into the hammock straps and wall mounting points.
Since you'll be cutting and drilling, please make sure to wear safety equipment such as gloves, goggles and a dust mask when working on your hammock mounting points.
