I’m about to buy creeping fig for balcony facing north, hot in summer and very warm in winter.
want to grow up wall about one meter wide and 2.5 high. I have a pot 400mm x 800mm x300mm deep.
Do you think I should plant 1, 2 or 3 small plants. And do you think the pot is big enough?
thx someone.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @ericbutler4449. It's wonderful that you've joined us, and many thanks for your question about creeping figs.
It sounds like your pot will be adequate to support that growth. I'd consider planting two plants, or possibly three. They'll take some time to achieve the size you are after, and you'll need to fertilize them with a good quality product like Scotts Osmocote 500g Pots, Planters & Indoors Controlled Release Fertiliser. Creeping figs do enjoy the sun in a well-draining moist soil mixture. In mid-summer, you might want to look at some type of shade netting to prevent them from getting scorched, at least for the first couple of years.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
