We have an older Hills retractable clothesline - about ten years old. One of the black circular parts that holds the line in a tensed position has broken. I have a new part, but is there an easier way to get in onto the arm, without virtually pulling the whole thing apart?
Hello @Raymason
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's marvellous to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your Hills retractable clothesline.
If this is the unit with the small opening at the front I'm afraid you'll have no choice but to take it apart. Would it be possible for you to post a few photos of the clothesline? This will give our members a chance to examine the clothesline's configuration. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.
Please note that the Hills clothesline spring is under tension and can cause injury if disassembled incorrectly, take all necessary precautions when taking it apart. Please make sure you're wearing gloves and safety goggles when attempting to work on the clothesline.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
