Hi all!
I'm planning a new fence on an existing flat concrete slab. The slab is in good condition. The fence will be straight, approximately 20m long. Half way along the fence, it will T-off for a small panel and then a gate that will latch to the house.
My question is concerned around fixing colourbond posts to the slab. I am thinking of using shark fin base plates with drilled mechanical or chemical bolts. I'm not keen on coring holes into the slab at 2.4m centres and installing footings. I might consider this at the gate post, but I'd prefer not to hire a concrete corer for one hole.
So my questions:
1) thoughts on my proposal / method?
2) alternative connection types?
3) any other thoughts or things I should consider?
Thanks in advance
Nick
