Hi, first time posting here... so I recently found a gap between the outside wall of my house and the paving/tiles at the front, and would like to fill it in as this gap is very close to my front door and ants appear to be using it to get into my house. I am completely inexperienced at this sort of thing so any advice as to what I should do/what I should use to fill in this gap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @LunaD. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about filling a gap.
To fill the gap between your outside wall and tiles, the first step is to clean out any debris from the crack. You’ll want a clean, dry surface to ensure the filler adheres properly. After that, I recommend using grey Sikaflex 11FC, which is a durable and flexible sealant that will fill the gap and help prevent ants from entering your home. You'll also need a caulking gun to expel the product.
To keep the area neat, place painter’s tape on either side of the crack before applying the filler. This will prevent the Sikaflex from getting on your tiles or wall. Once the gap is filled, smooth it out with a spatula or a wet finger, and let it cure according to the instructions on the packaging.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
