Hi All,
I was after a lock and key for my electrical meter box. It is under Ausnet service.
I was wondering whether Bunnings sell a Victorian Power Industry lock and key?
Any guidance is appreciated!
That is a highly specialised lock with proprietory (restricted) key design, you will need to visit a dedicated locksmith service.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @AGM. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about VPILs.
Our supplier, Lockwood, has a range of Victorian Power Industry Locks. If you'd like to see the Special Orders team at your local store, they can order your required lock in for you.
Here's some more info on VPILs. As @DIYGnome has mentioned, the replacement keys are restricted, and verification needs to be provided to acquire new ones. However, you should be able to order a new lock and key set.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

yeah and so expensive! Thank you very much!
Thank you so much! very expensive option!
To be honest I've never needed to lock our power meter box but I can understand why a need might exist, I would still imagine the $150+ for a VPI padlock is cheaper than the remote utility meter option (seen on some storefronts).
