Can I lay porcelain outdoor pavers over concrete substrate using sand base?

Is it advisable to lay porcelain outdoor pavers (Tuscan Path 600 x 400 x 20mm Porcelain Paver) over concrete substrate using sand base and proper edging?

This is not be a high traffic area. Very minimal use.

Thank you!IMG_6899.jpg

Hello @Samanta2024

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about putting pavers on a concrete substrate.

One of my main concerns is having the pavers right next to your weather board. If you were to install them, I would suggest leaving a gap of 50mm between your house wall and the pavers. This will prevent any moisture from sitting on the house wall. Otherwise, there is no reason why you can't put porcelain pavers on your path as long as you have proper edging on both sides to hold the sand base and paver in place.

I also suggest having a quick look at the 10 paths and paving ideas.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Appreciate your quick response. I will implement your suggestion(50mm) if I am going ahead with this plan.

Thank you!
