This sounds like a great project. I'm sure Workshop community members will be happy to help. Keen woodworkers like @AndrewJones, @She_Skills and @Wayne might be particularly helpful. 

Can you tell us a little more about the wood you are planning to use, and what the high table will be used for? It might help the community give you more specific advice.
